Please join FPNA for our first annual Fundraising EVent!
Dear Friend of FPNA:
I recently sent you a letter and membership form asking you to renew your membership support of the Fox Point Neighborhood Association.
In the past year alone, your Membership support has allowed us to:
• Support Head of the Bay Gateway through its three years of advocacy in every way we could. This resulted in the voter-approved referendum #4 to keep the parcel for public use.
• Advocacy efforts for Wickenden and other I-Way impacted streets, resulting in continuing revisions to the proposed street designs by the Department of Transportation and Department of Planning & Development.
• Creation of the Fox Point I-195 Noise Pollution Committee to investigate the marked increase in traffic noise from the relocated I-195, both in the streets and within residences.
• Continued beautification improvements, monthly board meetings, bi-annual membership meetings and on-going e-mail communication to members of pressing neighborhood issues.
We at FPNA are all deeply grateful for your Membership support over the past year and we look forward to again counting you as a Member during the coming year. I invite you to renew after reading our mailer or click here to download the form and mail back to us.
Sincerely,
Ian Barnacle
President, FPNA
The Fox Point Neighborhood Association, (FPNA), previously known as the Fox Point Citizens Association, was formed in 1993 over concerns about the upcoming re-location of Interstate 195. Today, land use and waterfront development surrounding this long process remain two of the organizations top priorities.
However, these concerns are only some of the many issues being addressed by the association. Others include traffic and safety, property taxes, historic preservation, beautification, zoning and licensing.
If you have an issue, we encourage you first to contact the appropriate agencies at http://cityof.providenceri.com/provconnex.
If your problem has not been resolved, come to our monthly board meeting to discuss it, or email us at askfpna_cox.netwith your questions.
Thumbs Up to Head of the Bay Gateway Co-Chairs David Riley and Arria Bilodeau, who first saw the public waterfront potential of a run-down property called Shooters. FPNA sends a special holiday wish to them, State Sen. Rhoda Perry, Rep. David Segal, and the many others who joined the fight on this important city and state issue. That was the first three years of advocacy; keep up with the changes at www.MakeShootersPublic.com.
FPNA also extends Season's Greetings and best wishes for the new year to our members and everyone in Fox Point! Thank You for your support!
