FPNA is pleased to welcome Jane Bird to the team as the association's new Administrative Assistant. A Fox Point resident for the past eight years, Jane loves and knows the neighborhood well – its historic houses, small businesses, and close-knit neighbors.
Jane is the Museum Communications and Events Manager at Lippitt House Museum where she organizes community events and public programs. She loves bringing people together through tours, talks and gatherings that bring Rhode Island history to life.
Programs at Lippitt House Museum often explore Providence’s industrialization and immigration history and examine how these forces reshaped the city’s neighborhoods, economy, politics and sense of connection. In that spirit, Jane hopes to draw on this history to support Fox Point’s continued growth, building on the Fox Point Neighborhood Association’s record of success to help the neighborhood thrive while preserving the character and stories that make it unique.
In her role as Administrative Assistant at FPNA, Jane will help neighbors stay informed and engaged as Fox Point navigates a period of rapid change. A firm believer in strong community ties and resident-centered progress, Jane is eager to support FPNA’s efforts to ensure that decisions about Fox Point reflect the voices of those who call it home.
